Opportunity amidst Crisis - Stopovers Serviced Apartments Bangalore.
With the great economic slow down, the entire industry is in doldrums, with business houses looking at surviving, forget making gains. The hospitality industry is worst hit with the dual effect of the 26/11 terror attacks and recession, leaving hotels with heaps of overheads and scanty revenue. Amidst this gloomy picture, there exists an exception to the rule – Stopovers Service Apartments!
“With corporate firms slashing down their accommodation budgets, regular guests of star hotels have been diverted to service apartments. We provide them with matching facilities, with larger spaces at a price almost half of what they used to pay. This has resulted in 90% occupancy levels in our executive apartments” says a happy Gautham Allampali, Chief of Stopovers service apartments.
“In a business one has to be dynamic and with recession kicking in, we immediately reduced our prices by half, to maintain and boost our clientele. Costing was then worked out backwards and all the loose corners were plugged. It’s a shift from good margin and good occupancy levels to a wafer thin margin and cent percent occupancy” said the Chief.
Apart from having a large corporate clientele, Stopovers has recently launched Stopover Vacations, a dedicated division for leisure travelers who want to have a packed weekend from Bangalore. “The options available in the market for weekend getaways are unorganized and our focus is to make it organized. There is huge potential in this niche service line” says Mr Gautham.
Stopovers, has now expanded to 3 locations, being HAL Airport Road, Koramangla and Banashankari Ring Road. The company is looking to expand into the northern side of Bangalore, near the International Airport but still maintains that CBD is the main focus.
